The Friends of Omega Foundation was incorporated in the State of Arkansas on October 5, 2005. Consisting of both men and women throughout the region, the group members share the commitment to uplift their community by addressing issues that affect the community and providing activities and opportunities that benefit minorities and other underrepresented groups. The main educational thrust of the foundation is to provide financial literacy to youth throughout Northwest Arkansas. The financial literacy program, My Kid Biz, is designed to give our youth (ages 10 – 17) a solid foundation on money management issues. My Kid Biz will teach them the basic knowledge of saving money, investing and overall money management. My Kid Biz facilitators will help guide students through a six-month annual program (June – December), track their performance in school, and serve as role models for participants. Annual scholarships will be awarded to the graduates of the program. Students from all over Northwest Arkansas will benefit from a one-day My Kid Biz financial literacy seminar as well as participation in the six-month program.
